Family Jewels

So I set out for the tomb, which was just located on the other side of the river. Still, it is a pretty big river; It took me over half a minute to cross it. I used a water walking potion to get over, the only one I had, but it got me there quickly.

Inside the cave where the tombs were located were many, many zombies. As always, not wanting to catch more diseases than I need to, I fell back and let Val slaughter them all. As you can see on his sword, it's a pretty messy job. (Although, This doesn't make much sense since zombies are already dead, they wouldn't leave any red blood behind.) My logic in this is Val is stubborn, and runs in and fights everything anyway. If I join in, then both of us will be getting diseases when I have a very limited number of potions. But if I fall back and just let Val catch the diseases, I can slip him only one potion when the task is over and he will be cured.

In the next room the dark silhouette of an ominous figure could be seen. The sight gave me shivers, because I knew what this meant. This demon was very powerful. This isn't any small zombie, or little goblin. I took a deep breath, told Val to get ready, took a step back so he could rush past me and be the ice breaker and went for it! I'm lucky I did too.. turns out this demon was powerful indeed! Of course as both Val and I were his targets he would occasional slip a blast from his staff past Val to me, and when I got hit... I really got hit! A single hit brought my full health down to nearly 0 leaving me nearly passed out each time. Again, thanks to my restore health spell, I am able to return my health to full with a single activation of the spell. Unfortunately the sinerio(Ok, I can't spell this word and spell check is an idiot. NO I do not mean SINNER.) this presented was me always on the defense because I was so busy restoring my health that I couldn't get a shot in! I had a choice, heal myself or die. I knew we could never win this way, Val was comming down to his last strength.. everything I summoned to attack the demon was blasted to pieces in a single blow.. I had only one choice... INVISIBILITY RING!
With it on we could kill the demon.
Turns out it wasn't a demon after all!
As you can see it is what it says on the middle of the screen there. Ayleid Lich King. He had been guarding the very armor that I had come to fetch, and so we retrieved it and left. The woman was very happy to have it back, and payed us some good money.

Here are my stats so far:
As you can see, my muscles have gotten even larger! Wow, what a surprise! By now, i'm beginning to look like a man D: I don't want that, but there's nothing I can do. I guess fighting all the time gives you some pretty good muscles. I practically look like a bodybuilder now. Don't mind the -14's, those are due to my skooma withdrawl symptoms. They're easily remedied.

I reported back to my guild head in Cheydinhal and was told he had no more tasks for me, and to go back to Anvil. I practically threw a fit right there. Why do they keep sending me to the complete opposite side of the country?! I was JUST over there!!

Lets play.. What is Val saying!

Another Day Another Septim

I knew just where to get ectoplasm! Every local chapel has crypts in the basement of it, and there are always ghosts down there! Val and I boldly charged down into the crypts of the local chapel and successfully found many spirits! We went to town blasting each one of them, they were plentiful! It was great fun watching Val have fun swinging his sword on them and me blasting them with my staff! We were ducking behind pillars to not get blasted ourselves and running all over the crypt dodging the ghosts magicks! Don't get me wrong, it was all fun but it wasn't easy. I was thankful to have my restore health spell which kept me very safe, but without it I would have been dead in two blasts if not just one from one of them ghosts! Val got knocked down many times, and by the time we were finished he was plum out of breath! In the end I successfully harvested ectoplasm from the many ghostly bodies strewn around.. and upon looking down a dark hallway found a ghost that had just spotted me that hadn't been got yet! I had plenty of ectoplasm, even one extra, so my intentions to flee were greater than fight, and thinking I would just get out of there real fast I did flee, with val tailing right behind!
We stopped just inside the chapel to catch our breaths and sort things out when I see priests rushing past me to the crypt doors! I spin around to find the ghost has followed! And watched with baited breath to see who would win the fight.

I believe a total of two priests faught the ghost, and as you can see one of them died. The other fled before he succumbed to the ghost and because Val and I were in no condition to fight any more we fled the chapel too!

I thought we would be safe, surely it wouldn't follow us outside. But it did! As the fight spilled out into the streets people ran in panic! And a guard rushed forth to slaughter the minion! After a long, interesting battle (I wish I had my popcorn) the ghost finally was killed and the guard walked away humphing. I hurried back to the woman who wanted the ectoplasm, handed it successfully to her, and recieved a thanks. She then told me to relay the message to the fighters guild members that she could provide them with an ingredient gathering job (ogres teeth and minotaur horns) which I did, they were pleased, and all was right in the world again.

The head of the guild told me that he had no more duties for me, and to go to Cheydinhal for more. So it was off to Cheydinhal! Along the way I saw some interesting sights:
I found in the middle of the road a neat pile of dead wolves. Why? I don't know. Highly unusual.

Upon stopping in Bravil to get some skooma I saw a beautiful sight of one of the two moons.

When I reached Cheydinhal and spoke to the head guild person there I was told my next duty was to check on some woman in the town "waters edge" (which is a cozy little town I love because of how homey it feels). This town is in between Bravil and Leyawiin. That meant I had a long trek all the way back to the south to make, which was slightly frustrating, but that's life. I decided to spend the night in Cheydinhal and have a fresh and early start the next morning. I spent the rest of my day with Val relaxing at the local inn.
Some snapshots of my day in the inn:

Woo.. look at the muscles on those shoulders. I wish I could look similar IRL. That's a real warrior there. :P

Basking in the warm glow of the sunset through the windows.

Aww.. thanks Val n.n So sweet.

The long trip down the road to Leyawiin was not without it's interesting sights either. Along the way I spotted a heavily armed, trained guard fighting with a will-o-whisp... and chuckled!
What's that guard think he's doing?! Does he think he's actually going to kill it? Then I felt sorry for him, because he's going to end up dead in a minute or two. Interested, and also knowing i'll have some new armor in a minute, I watched....

Then from behind me another guard joined in! This was epic! XD

Aaaaaand... first guard down!

Second guard down!
Just as I predicted.. my tricorn went over to make sure they were surely dead before I approached. The whips went off to live it's life in peace while I walked over and looted the bodies. I didn't get but a couple of swords and curasses though.

Along the way accross the bridge I got stopped by my old friend the bandit khajiit.
When asked to hand over my money, I told him I was the arch mage now. "do you know who you're talking to? I'm the arch mage!"

Thank you.. oh and one minute. You owe me some money. He happily handed over 100 septims (S'why I don't mind getting stopped by him.) and went on his way.

I reached Bravil and stopped in for the night since it was getting dusk (I have enough skooma, and I don't have any money to buy more) and decided to relax the rest of the night before turning in. I took a small tour of the town.
 What in the world...?

I didn't know they had a gallows here.. Neat. Poor guy though, I wonder what he did wrong..

While I was staying there I recieved a note from somebody that read this:

Interesting! Well that's good! I feel much better now that the mages guild in Bruma is no longer smoldering in a pit of flames! And my favorite khajiit from there, J'skar, is head of that guild! That's wonderful news! I went to bed that night overjoyed.

The next morning we set out for Waters Edge. The ride was a very peaceful one. When we reached the town and spoke with the woman she expressed she needed some armor from her family tomb a few miles away to sell, so that she can pay off a debt she owes. I agreed to do it reluctantly. That's my next job.

Now, something interesting a random person said to me on the road:
Eh.. word gets around I guess... I wonder what it is that i've done to give me this reputation with him..

Business 2

Well, life in the fighters guild has been going smoothly. I got promoted from doing contracts to duties, and referred to the head of the fighters guild in Chorrol. Most of the contracts were basically "go here, do this, come back." which has been a little repetative but very easy and quickly accomplished. That's why I haven't been writing much about them. The case with the rats was unique because of the reference to Morrowind and also my encounter with the rat lady early on. However, the rest of the cases have been boring.

My first duty in the fighters guild given to me by the head of the fighters guild in Chorrol was to figure out why a certain fighters guild member has not reported back with a journal he was supposed to fetch. He was sent to Skingrad, so that's where I was sent. I found him in the local inn and he expressed how scared he was to do the task given to him, because the journal was set in a very dangerous cave. I rolled my eyes, thinking this guys a jerk for joining a guild whose jobs he can't even do.. but played nice with him. I felt sorry because he did look a little bit like a wimp and expressed he has a family to think of. I offered to go get the journal for him "Look, do you want me to get the journal for you?" and he said yes. Thus, I did so.
One thing I found interesting about this task was the cave. Soon as I entered it I was greeted with this sight:
Now call me cruel, but I couldn't help but burst out giggling at this! I know this poor dude died from a rockslide, but it looks like the rock landed right on his crotch and everybody knows crotch shots are hilarious! Who doesn't laugh at the guy getting hit in the crotch :P maybe except for the guy himself. Mmmhmm.. dangerous cave I see. While I was aware of the cave trying to change my mind about just how dangerous it actually was, I still wasn't convinced. I continued on.
I encountered many foe's along the way but really the cave was no problem. The poor fighters guild member was a wimp after all. With a sigh I retrieved the crummy journal, having opened it to take a peek at just what was so valuable inside of it and found nothing of interest, and returned to the guild member, handing it to him. He accepted it with gratitude. Being the nice person I am I said I would tell the fighters guild in Chorrol that he did the task, not myself. He feigned indifference but I insisted I tell them he did it. Thus, I did.

My next duty was sending me to Leyawiin. On the way I stopped at Lake Rumare, the one sorrounding the IC like a giant moat, and swam in it for a little while searching for one of the very few slaughterfish in it. I needed the scales for the druid gods. Once I also get some imp gall I can return to the temple with my offerings in exchange for some new abilities. I did that, and continued south to Leyawiin, stopping in at Bravil for some skooma and a brief nights rest. Having spent the night in Bravil I recieved this message:
So, On my way back to the IC I have to stop in and make some more changes to the mages guild.

Some encounters on the way to Leyawiin:
We were attacked by a wolf. Of course I could have easily killed it with my staff, but I noticed Val didn't have his weapon with him at the moment, and remembered I had it because I was going to get it fixed and recharged. I watched with amusement as Val took on the wolf bare handed. To my surprise and delight, and I was impressed, he killed the wolf with two punches! My he's strong!

Running at "full speed ahead!" Charge Charge Charge Charge! WOOHOO! Gallop Gallop Gallop Gallop.. the world is whizzing by!!!  Charge Charge Charge     STOP..... ...... ... .....wait for rabbit to cross road........ ........hum de dum.. ....... ..... ..... THEN CHARGE AGAIN!!!! WHOOOSH!

Wow, some peaceful guar! I haven't seen wild ones since Morrowind.  Cool!
I wondered what guar meat tastes like... so I zapped one intending to kill it... then I WAS MOBBED BY ALL OF THEM! AAAAHHH!! I was forced to flee with my health in jeopardy and a whole pack of guar chasing me down the road!
It must have looked hilarious to some passing guards and townies to see a big, buff, tall, heavily armed neko running full speed down the street terrified, followed by a whole pack of guar!
Val just stood there looking confused "duh...huh...?" He must be shaking his head thinking "tsk... Kittie and her silly antics.."

In Leyawiin I found that there were a few fighters guild members in one of the local inns creating some trouble. All of the townspeople were complainging about them. They said they had been breaking things and creating a rukkus. I spoke with them and they expressed they were angry because all of the jobs were being stolen by another company. I offered to find them some jobs, they didn't think I could but said if I did they would be impressed and stop causing trouble. I was referred to a woman in town which I went to, who said she could provide some jobs for them if I found her some ectoplasm.. so that's my next task. Ectoplasm ho!

Business

Anvil fighters guild requested one last task of me. Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of pictures of it because I forgot to start my fraps. I thought I had it started and was "taking images" when in actuality I wasn't taking anything.
ANYWAY.. the task was very straight forward, talk to this merchant on the docks about what's going on in his store. Basically he had thieves comming and stealing stuff and he had no idea who or how. He requested I spend the night there to catch them in the act. As soon as the owner left I quickly set to work looting everything I could in the store that I could find handy! Hey.. its an unguarded store full of things, who wouldn't take this opportunity!
After that was done, and I didn't find that many things, I sat down on a chair facing the store's entrance... while Val went up stairs, knocked around a few things, and stomped around quite noisily for some reason. I was a little annoyed at him and kept glancing askance up at the cealing with a frustrated look. Finally, eventually he came back down with a dumb smile on his face. I grumbled to myself while I stood and trduged up there to see just what damage he had done. I found nothing out of place except there was food, plates, bowls and silverware all over the floor. Apparently Val had decided it would be fun to walk on the table. Grumbling to myself I walked back down stares and sat again to wait, this time Val stood beside me. I swear, sometimes he just drives me nuts.
Eventually the thieves came in and I slaughtered them along with the help of Val and my newly summoned skeleton hero. This skeleton didn't die as easily as the last! I then went and fetched the merchant store owner, told him I caught and killed the men, and lead him back to his store to see the damage. He was shocked to find it had all be people that worked for him. I was like "well.. that's what happens " with a shrug. He thanked me, payed me and we left.
Back at the fighters guild I was a little disappointed to find out they had no more tasks for me. They suggested I try my luck at Cheydinhal.. I swear the fighters guild sucks compared to the mages guild. They are far less organized!
I had a couple of things I had to do before I left Anvil. First I checked the local shops for some ingredients to cure disease because once again Val was sick. After a long search I found none, but found some in my own ingredients I had all along. I passed Val a couple, hopefully he'll take them. Then I delivered a package to the local inn. Last, I had to gather a couple of things from the gold coast outside the city for the druid gods. This required walking around outside all over the place. I decided to do so as a deer to avoid getting attacked by animals.
The view was quite beautiful, and I felt one with nature.. even if Val was charging around at the other animals needlessly.

Eventually I came close to the IC and a body of water. I swam accross to the other side to see if there were any wolves over there because wolf pelt was one of the ingredients I needed.. but found something else quite puzzling instead.

Under the water stuck in the mud by a single leg was a corpse, what is a corpse doing out here? Also, it had a name! This once was somebody. I checked the corpse to find two items, a note and a primrose flower.

How sad.. There is nothing I can do now. Who knows, this body may be years old. I had to leave him be, but I took the note and primrose (after a second thought) for safe keeping. I plan on putting it up in my tree home in memory of this couple and the poor man.

I reached the IC and had two tasks to do. First I had to deliver a package to the inn there. When I entered I found an amusing glitch. One of the people inside was raking the floor... Oookaayy..

Next I had to visit the AU again because I got news I was needed. Inside I was asked to gather some people to replace the old mages council since they'd been destroyed. I did so.

It was only then, when I was no longer needed there that I continued to Cheydinhal. Once reaching Cheydinhal I entered the city, then transported myself to the druid temple to give the gifts that were requested of me. Upon giving them I was asked for more things, which incedentally I had in my inventory thanks to my alchemy habbit.

I tried out my new found abilities on the poor unsuspecting Val.
First came the vines that went around myself to provide healing. It was a giant bush that grew up through the ground around me. I was immobile while they stayed, then they left the same way they grew. While this is cool, I still have really great healing spells so I probably won't be using this.

Next I turned to Val and cast the vine spell on him to have the vines attack him, just to see what it was like.  I heard him jump in surprise and yell "Hey! I'm on your side!" Then he crumpled to the ground.
The guard looks amused.

Yeah that's right guard. Just keep walkin, nothin to see here... Pay no attention to what i'm doing to my partner...

Now lets play, what is val saying? :D
